Be on the Front Line and help SSAFA Somerset make a difference for those in need and help servicemen and women as well as veterans. Cases vary enormously in both type and complexity and we help veterans of all three services and the Royal Marines. Their needs range from the provision of wheelchairs and walk-in showers, to help with mental health issues, family and debt problems but sometimes it is a simple matter of sign posting a client to specific Government departments to put them back on track. Due to Covid restrictions, induction training courses are held on-line. You need to be an excellent listener and be practical; this is a highly rewarding role.
