What Are We Like?
We provide a friendly, free service for local people seeking employment or self-employment, training or volunteering opportunities and we can look for information about funding opportunities related to these and for community groups.
I want to thank you all for the facilities that were made available to me and, not less important, for the encouragement I always found.
When you visit the opportunity shop please speak to a volunteer advisor. They may be able to offer a private interview room if you wish or can make an appointment for another time.
Volunteer advisors are professionally qualified or are training and under the supervision of a professionally qualified volunteer advisor.
We do not share any information about customers with Job Centre Plus, Housing Benefit or Tax Offices. Our written confidentiality policy is summarised on our registration form. We can explain it fully, or you can read it, please ask.
Extremely helpful! Keep up the good work.
New customers (and, from time-to-time, existing customers) are asked to complete a registration form - this can help us secure funding to maintain the free service. It also helps us to analyse usage statistics in order to develop and improve the service.
Some of our advice work is funded under the national nextstep programme. We will tell customers when this is the case and will ask their permission to forward registration forms and copies of action plans to Connexions Cornwall and Devon Ltd (solely for the same reasons as we hold written information ourselves).
